We kindly remind you that Mooipan has been conceived as a “homestead” and is not intended to be a “lodge”. This has the following impacts on how we plan to manage bookings:
MOOIPAN is basically a self-catering establishment, with meals mostly prepared in the Lapa (barbecue enclosure) over an open fire, for which an ample supply of wood is always available.
But it nevertheless has much the same conveniences that you would expect in your own home. Both homesteads have a fully equipped kitchen, with stove, microwave, toaster, hot water urn, ample fridge and freezer facility, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. An Icemaker is provided in the main homestead.
We supply bedding and blankets, we service the rooms and look after general cleaning, dishwashing, and even laundry if required.
Meals and/or a cook to prepare your own supplies can be arranged on request.
The nearest shopping facility is at Steenbokpan, a 15 min drive from Mooipan, where the Steenbokpan General Dealer can supply anything from fresh bread, milk, basic foodstuffs and meat, to cold drinks, cigarettes, toiletries, basic hardware items, fuel, etc. It has a registered liquor store, and is also the venue for the famous Bushveld Pub & Grill. Lephalale a 40 minutes’ drive from Mooipan, is a budding midsize regional town with just under 20,000 residents, and with pretty much every convenience one would find in the bigger communities – shopping centers, banks, restaurants, malls, hospital and medical services etc.
- We will generally prefer to avoid booking more than one group per week-end, or at most will take two independent group bookings only if we can accommodate each group in its own homestead
- We give preference to group bookings with a minimum of four persons or more
- Once you have made a non-binding provisional booking, we will:
- Contact you and arrange the detail, and;
- We will provide the Hunting and Accommodation Price List prior to contacting you
